Building Healthy Communities
As a community mental health center Pawnee is the ONLY provider of community services for adults with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and children with Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED).
Youth Rehabilitation Services (YRS) provides children and youth with a variety of services intended to help children with SED develop resiliency and coping skills that help them overcome the symptoms that they experience. Children and youth are taught these skills and then are given opportunities to utilize the skills in an environment where they are supported and encouraged. One of our most unique programs designed for children with SED is our S.T.A.R.S. Camp. Now in its 20th year, S.T.A.R.S. stands for strength, teamwork, attitude, relationships and self-esteem, all qualities emphasized in our YRS programs and necessary for the children to be able to become contributing adults in their community. Pawnee is always looking for individuals, organizations and businesses to provide sponsorships for S.T.A.R.S. Camp, to help enhance the participants' experiences. For many children and youth this is the only camp they are able to attend due to the severity of their symptoms. Please join those who have already committed their support to S.T.A.R.S. Camp 2020.
