Pawnee Mental Health Welcomes Kaylee Armstrong as School-Based Therapist
Pawnee Mental Health is pleased to welcome Kaylee Armstrong, LPC-T, as a new School-Based Therapist. Armstrong joins Pawnee's School-Based Services team, where she will provide therapy and behavioral health support to students and families in local schools.
In her role, Armstrong will provide individual therapy, develop person-centered treatment plans, and collaborate with school personnel, families, and members of Pawnee’s multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure students receive comprehensive, compassionate care. She is committed to creating a safe, supportive environment while advocating for the unique needs of every individual she serves.
Armstrong earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology with a concentration in Forensic Investigations from Indiana State University, followed by a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University.
Before joining Pawnee, Armstrong served as a therapist in Vicenza, Italy, where she provided counseling services to active-duty military personnel and their families stationed overseas. She also worked as an Education Counselor with the Transition Assistance Program, helping service members prepare for life after the military by supporting their educational and career goals. These experiences strengthened her ability to work with individuals navigating trauma, major life transitions, and unique personal challenges.
Armstrong’s therapeutic approach is both client-centered and trauma-informed, using evidence-based practices tailored to each person’s individual needs. She believes therapy is most effective when built on collaboration, compassion, and trust, allowing clients to develop resilience and create meaningful, lasting change.
“Kaylee brings valuable experience working with military families and individuals facing significant life transitions,” said Colleen O’Connell, School-Based Services Manager. “Her compassionate, client-centered approach and commitment to meeting people where they are make her an outstanding addition to our School-Based Services team. We are excited to welcome her to Pawnee and know she will have a positive impact on the students and families we serve.”
Outside of work, Armstrong enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, hiking, and traveling. She is also an accomplished competitive powerlifter, recently earning first place in her weight class at the Kansas Ladies of Iron competition in Wichita.
Pawnee Mental Health is proud to welcome Armstrong to its growing team of dedicated professionals committed to improving access to quality behavioral health services across north central Kansas.
