School Based Services
One in six youth have a mental health condition, like anxiety or depression, but only half receive any mental health services. (Source: National Alliance on Mental Illness) Childhood depression is more likely to persist into adulthood if untreated, but only half of children with pediatric major depression are diagnosed before adulthood. In fact, 60.3% of youth with major depression do not receive any mental health treatment. Kids experiencing major depressive episodes (MDE) continue to go untreated. Even among the states with the most significant access for youth, one in three youth are still not receiving the mental health services they need. (Source: Mental Health America)
