How I help:
I strongly believe that interacting with individuals in the community they live in is the best way to support their needs. I work with our Community Services staff to increase ways we can provide the best services for our consumers at their work, school, home, and community. Part of this is building stronger relationships with our community partners. My ultimate goal is to help the communities Pawnee serves be healthier and happier.

My specialties:
I graduated from Washburn University in Topeka with both my Bachelor and Master of Social Work. I have been licensed in the state of Kansas as a Master’s Level Social Worker since 2002.

Prior to Pawnee, I worked for seven years in another Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) providing community services to youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). Through my education, I received experience working in a community resource center and with a second CMHC in their school-based mental health program. These opportunities provided me with much experience in building community relationships and tying mental health needs into a person’s everyday life.

Through Pawnee I have gained more experience in the community working as an In-Home Family and School-Based Therapist and as a Community-Based Supervisor. I have been in my current role as Director of Community Services since 2014.

In addition to my role as a program director, I provide Mental Health First Aid classes. I have been an instructor since 2013. The role of instructor fits perfectly with my role as a Community Services Director in that I am helping to educate our communities on mental health needs, making the communities healthier and stronger.

More about me:
I am from Manhattan and have lived most of my life in the Pawnee service area. Improving the quality of health and quality of life for the residents in our area is of high importance to me as a community member.

When I am not at work, I enjoy family time which includes dog walks and watching my nephews play various sports. Family time for us also includes many Kansas State University sporting events. My husband and I enjoy food and traveling and like to include tasting new food as part of our travels with family and friends.
