Pawnee Mental Health promotes Adam Johnson LSCSW, LMAC to Recovery Services Manager

Pawnee Mental Health announces the promotion of Adam Johnson to Recovery Services Manager. Mr. Johnson has been with Pawnee since May of 2007. During this time Adam has worked with the Youth Recovery Services Program as a case manager, Recovery Services Program as a therapist and most recently with the Outpatient Program as a therapist. Mr. Johnson was also involved in building and directing the Batterer Intervention Program at PMHS. Mr. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University, a master’s degree from Washburn University, and completed his Clinical Social Work license in 2013.

Mr. Johnson grew up in a number of locations across the state of Kansas and graduated from Wamego High School. Adam is now a resident of Manhattan with his wife and two sons. Adam is passionate about developing recreational activities as he is involved in local Disc Golf course design and coaching youth baseball.

“Adam will be the direct supervisor for all SUD staff across the 10 counties that Pawnee serves and has a wealth of knowledge about substance use disorders as well as mental health” states Becky Woodward, Director of Therapy & Recovery Services for Pawnee. “He has been with the SUD team for several years and has fulfilled a mentor role for those staff. We are so pleased to have him in this position”.

Founded in 1956, Pawnee Mental Health Services is a private, not-for-profit community mental health center, one of 26 in the state. Pawnee provides a full range of mental health and substance use recovery services for adults, adolescents and children in ten northeast Kansas counties. In fiscal year 2019, approximately 250 staff were employed and served more than 7,000 adults, adolescents and children.
