Support Recovery Services

Alcohol or drug addiction is a progressive disease that will continue to get worse without intervention and treatment. Pawnee’s Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Services program treats alcohol and drug addiction as a primary disease in which a holistic treatment approach must be used. An individual’s mental state, physical condition, social environment, emotional and spiritual life are all considered when treating addiction.

The Kansas Client Placement Criteria (KCPC) is used to determine the appropriate level of treatment, whether that is social detox, outpatient (Level I), intensive outpatient (Level II) or inpatient (Level III). Pawnee provides Level II intensive outpatient treatment, which is a combination of group and individual therapy. In many of our locations we are the only providers of such services. Individuals who participate in this program complete 10 hours of outpatient treatment per week, nine hours in a group therapy setting and one hour in private therapy. People typically spend four to six weeks in this program.

Ways to support Recovery Services

  • To provide the best recovery services possible it is important for Pawnee to be able to provide training opportunities for our staff. Financial gifts toward this purpose ensure that our therapists are prepared to utilize the most effective therapy techniques with our clients.
  • When meeting in person our recovery groups have a need for food, snacks and beverages as many of the participants come straight from work and do not have time to get food in order to be on time for the meeting.
  • Our recovery therapists also use recovery curriculum and equipment. Funding for these items is essential to maintain a vibrant and robust recovery program.
