Pawnee Opens New Office Building in Beloit

Posted Wednesday January 26, 2022

Pawnee Mental Health recently opened a new office in Beloit at 2020 N. Independence Ave. to serve our therapy and recovery clients. Community services such as adult and youth rehabilitation will remain at 207-5 N. Mill Street. The Pawnee Mental Health Foundation purchased the building at 2020 N. Independence from USD 273 in July 2021. Following some light remodel work, which included adding a restroom, installation of new flooring at the entrances, painting the interior of the building, and delivery of new office, lobby and conference room furnishings, the office opened on December 6, 2021. This allows more space for community services on N. Mill Street and expands resources that Pawnee can provide to Mitchell County.

“We are excited to provide this new space for Beloit and Mitchell County residents,” said Robbin Cole, Pawnee’s executive director. “The space is light and bright and has a welcoming atmosphere. We hope everyone will join us on January 18 at 4pm for our open house.”

Founded in 1956, Pawnee Mental Health is a private, not-for-profit community mental health center, one of 26 in the state of Kansas. They provide a full range of psychotherapy, crisis, medication management, and substance use recovery services. Pawnee employs approximately 250 staff and serves almost 7,000 adults, adolescents, and children annually. They serve 10 north central Kansas counties and have been serving Beloit and Mitchell County for more than 45 years.

“Pawnee Mental Health has provided quality services to our family,” said Heather Isbell, Beloit resident and member of Pawnee’s governing board. “The therapists, social workers, respite care providers, and all staff are top notch and offer services based on the needs of the individual and the family.  We have been blessed with these service providers right here in our community and they are highly recommended. Thank you to the staff at PMH for your time, dedication, and passion for what you do! We are grateful!”

Outpatient services include individual, marital, family and group therapy, medication evaluation and management, case management, individual and group psychosocial rehabilitation services, school-based therapy, crisis services, consultation and education. As a community mental health center Pawnee is the only mental health agency in a 10-county service area who welcomes anyone in need of mental health services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year regardless of their insurance, status as a client or ability to pay. They are also the only provider of person-centered care in the home and community for children with Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED) and adults with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). Their Transitional Living Program provides transitional housing for adults with SPMI who are homeless. We also operate a Crisis Stabilization Unit providing voluntary mental health crisis services including the ability for clients to stay overnight if needed.
